others:

The following feed is taken from:http://bpnoy3.wordpress.com/2008/04/13/adding-digg-stumbleupon-delicious-reddit-facebook-link-buttons-your-post/

Login into your wordpress.com account. Then Manage>click one of your block post. Open notepad and open the socialbookmark.txt you downloaded earlier. You should see something similar :

So once you open that, click Edit>Replace (CTRL+H). Two fields are shown. One for “Find What” and one for “Replace With”.

For “Find what” field enter xURIx (that is a capital “i” at the end). This is for your URL post. Next get the URL of the blog post you want to put the buttons in. One way of getting this is by opening another browser window and going to your actual exact blog post and copy the URL.

Go back to Notepad and paste the URL in “Replace with” field. Then click “Replace All” button. All instances with xURIx will be replaced with the copied URL.

The next replacement is the TITLE of the post. Find xTITLEx and the same procedure applies. You can easily find the title of your blog post by going back to your dashboard and under write or manage button find the permalink. The “Edit” link should be next to your post url. Click that and copy the title (everything with the dashes.)

Ok so now we are done making all the changes needed on the text file. Go back to editing your blog post. Swith to HTML mode. Copy and paste everything. Where?? At the end of your blog post. Go back to Visual mode and save.

You can do this to all your old post as well new future ones. It might take long but hey more audience is always good.

Note: When closing Notepad, do not save the changes made or you’ll have trouble later.

This tutorial was inspired by our friends at archGFX.com. Thank you!

So if everything went well it should look like one below.

Hi there,

If you’re interested in social bookmarking, I’ve just created a free application that automatically generates (designed & beautiful) social bookmarking buttons for your WordPress.com posts.

It’s called GetSocial and it’s very friendly, dependable and easy to use – and it will also fix your AddThis.com button!

Check it out:

Mafia MoFo – Not Just Another Mafia Game

5 Comments -  Posted in Tech News

Mafia MoFo - Not Just Another Mafia GameRecently, there has been a lot of activity with online mafia / mobster games, from the problems with Mafia Wars to the launch of Bulletproof, New Mafia, and more. You may be asking why you would care about yet another mafia game. Mafia MoFo sets itself apart from the rest in several ways. Mafia MoFo is not a MySpace game, which generally makes it more easily accessible, without the performance issues associated with Myspace. However, what really sets Mafia MoFo apart from the rest is the amount of activities that are available to perform. Mafia MoFo is miles ahead of the other games in this regard.

Google Earth Now Features Rome Reborn 2.0

Google Earth Now Features Rome Reborn 2.0How did people live thousands of years ago? The University of Virginia’s Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities asked this exact same question. As a result, they decided to digitally rebuild the revolutionary city of Rome during the peak of its development (around A.D. 320 – the time of Constantine The Great). They figured this would be the best way to try and understand how humans lived so long ago.

CIT 701

WebQuest Title: Fun in the Park: Art History Project

Intended Grade Level: Advanced 1st or 2nd grade

Description:

You are an architect planning a new project for the park

You will use your art skills to design a new layout for the park, if you determine that there needs to be changes to the park that is.

Task:

• SWBT recognize different surroundings in the park such as swing set, slide, Merry-go-round, etc

• SWBT decide where they would like to draw and sit down and design in their sketchpad how they would arrange the park differently

• SW interpret an object in the park that is old and one that is new

• They will be asked how many objects and what objects would make the park more attractive

• TW then ask students to describe their favorite park in words aloud or written down near their design

• TW decide which project seems more reasonable and place it on the web bulletin for others to see

• As a group the class, or group of students will present their idea to the class using their online bulletin or online architect page using www.kaboom.org as their presentation also

• All students will post their ideas to kaboom’s website after they are finished with their idea.

• Students that have difficulty may be allowed to count the objects in the park as an extra credit math assignement if they do not wish to post their idea

• Students who want to further research their project may go to the ICDL which may help them decide what type of park they want to build, specifically:

http://www.icdlbooks.org/icdl/SimpleSearchCategory

Resources:

www.kaboom.org-a place where the students can get ideas on how other kids did their park and where they can post their idea as well

http://www.icdlbooks.org/ where the students will look up their idea or get an idea

http://www.icdlbooks.org/icdl/SimpleSearchCategory where the student can search for a book about their idea

http://play.toontown.com/webHome.php?r=968122&r=507471&source=PpTTTtoGoo05005&CMP=KNCTNTGameGoogle&HBX_PK=online+kids+play&HBX_OU=50&r=796078&r=779702 : a website (optional) for incentives after activity is finished

Process:

This is a project that combines Art and History and it is something all students can enjoy completing. Students will be advised to first brainstorm while they are sitting at their favorite spot in the park, this includes drawing their idea or making a design. They should ask me if they think they are stuck. They will draw their design which will be done on the computer as well, this will take them approximately 20 minutes for the hand copy, the actual web site will take an hour. Then they will make a list of different things that are new and old or that they want to change, this graph will be on their site as well. It will look like this:

New Objects Old Objects

They will then type in the different objects they added and explain aloud why they put them there.

When everyone is finished with their project they will present them as a group to the class using their computer projected on the screen. Those that do not wish to present will write words down that the other students had and also count their objects. The students will then decide, vote, using arm raising technique, as a whole who they think the winner is (first prize, second place, third place). Everyone will then submit their project online at www.kaboom.com . After the activity they can go to Disney.com or get caught up on other assignments.

Learning Advice:

For one, the students should plot their new and old objects they find on a graph using a program on the computer preferably “graphing for kids” or Microsoft word for kids before submitting them to me. The ICDL library should help direct the advanced students into different avenues for their project. They might want to explore different possibilities of their idea by research using the above listed websites as resources. Also, making notes or drawings about what they want their project to be about is a good idea.

Conclusion:

How did you feel about your project? Write a word that describes your park or draw a pretty picture.

Why did you make the project a certain way?

What types of objects did you like at the park?

What types of objects did you dislike?

Which part of this assignment made you smarter?

Which activity was more fun?
